Would you like to learn to speak Dutch and gain confidence quickly?
At The Dutchess, you follow live online Dutch lessons with a professional private teacher, fully focused on speaking and communication.

All lessons take place one-to-one via Microsoft Teams or Zoom, allowing you to learn flexibly from home, the office or wherever you are.

Each lesson is fully adapted to your current language level and personal learning goals.
During a free introductory session, we discuss:

• your wishes and learning objectives;
• your current Dutch level;
• the desired focus of the lessons.

The teacher continuously aligns the content with you, so you can always indicate what matters most to you.

Possible goals include:

• preparation for the NT2 Dutch State Exam;
• communicating confidently in daily life in the Netherlands;
• using Dutch at work or in a professional setting;
• speaking Dutch more fluently and with confidence.

The Dutchess offers lessons for all levels (A1–C2), from complete beginners to advanced learners.

In each lesson, new grammar topics are explained briefly and then practised actively in vairious ways. At the end of the lesson, you will be better able to use these themes. 
However, the main focus is always on speaking.

During the lessons:

• you speak Dutch as much as possible;
• practical dialogues and real-life situations are central;
• mistakes are corrected clearly and constructively.

Even if you do not speak any Dutch yet, you will already answer simple questions in Dutch during your first lesson. This helps you overcome hesitation quickly and build confidence from the start.

Preparing short speaking tasks is a regular part of the homework.

By using a language as much as possible, we think you learn best. That is why we only offer individual courses, because in group lessons you have less opportunitie to speak.

Each lesson lasts 55 minutes.
After every lesson, you receive a clear email with homework assignments for the next session.

The homework:

• helps you reinforce what you have learned independently;
• is essential for fast progress;
• is adapted to the time you have available.

Together with your teacher, you decide how extensive the homework should be.

Because all Dutch lessons at The Dutchess are individual, the course can be adjusted at any time.

Regularly, the teacher will check with you:

• whether the lessons meet your expectations;
• whether your learning goals are being achieved;
• whether adjustments are needed.

This ensures that the lessons remain efficient, motivating and goal-oriented.
