Online Dutch course with a private tutor
The Dutch courses at The Dutchess are live with a professional teacher and always online. We work with Skype, GoToMeeting, Teams or Zoom, so you can follow your lessons at home, in the office or wherever you want.
All our courses are individual, so that the content of the course is adapted to your level and goals. Your wishes, goals and level will be determined during an intake interview at no cost. The teacher will always discuss the content of the lessons with you. You can clearly indicate what is important to you. Maybe you want to prepare yourself for the State Exam NT2, or you just arrived in the Netherlands and want to be able to manage in Dutch in daily life? The Dutchess offers all levels.
Let’s speak Dutch
In your Dutch lessons, new grammatical themes are briefly presented and practiced in various ways. At the end of the lesson, you will be better able to use these themes. The idea is that you speak as much as possible to improve your speaking skills. Even if you don’t speak any Dutch yet, in the very first lesson you will already respond in Dutch to the questions of your tutor. Preparing one or more speaking assignments is a recurring homework assignment.
By using a language as much as possible, we think you learn best. That is why we only offer individual courses, because in group lessons you have less opportunitie to speak.
Structure
In principle, a lesson lasts 55 minutes. After each lesson, you will receive an email with a clear overview of the homework you have to do for the next lesson. The homework is an important part of the course, so you can practise independently with the information you learned in the lesson. In this way, you will make faster progress. Of course, you can decide together with tyour tutor how much homework you can do at a time.
Continuous evaluation
Because the Dutch courses at The Dutchess are individual, the lessons can be adjusted immediately, if necessary. The teacher will regularly check with you if the course is still to your liking.
